Keetham Lake – The Expressway Beauty of Agra

Keetham Lake is linked by Railway track at Keetham Railway Station and was declared as National Bird Sanctuary in 1991 by U.P. Forest Department. The river of Yamuna surrounds the area of the lake. The climatic conditions of the lake is highly extreme with hot summers and cold winters. The temperature ranges between 1.5C to 49C. The monsoon falls from July to September.The entire lake forms an area of 7km².
Keetham Lake is pentagonal in shape and there are artificially created islands for shelter and breeding for the migratory birds. More than 100 species of migratory and residential birds are known to have their habitats at Keetham.
