Kanchanaburi – Chill away
The bridge which most infamously started World War II Death Railway to Burma on the Bridge over river Kwai is in this city. This city is gaining attention of the backpacker scene who look to chill out at the riverside vibe and get away from Bangkok. More visitors are thus discovering why it is the most beautiful provinces in the country with most easily accessible waterfalls and national parks.
Get into this onus city through bus from Bangkok or from Pattaya which is a 5 hour journey. Splurge some more in the social surrounding of Kanokarn which is market in the center of the town. It has 3 floors which is left to your exploration capacity. You can also go to the night market alsoknown as J J’s. Go for River Kwai book shop. Hire those big roofed river rafts for overnight, half day, full day, to have a dinner cruise, disco, karaoke, educational field trip, just viewing, or lazing in a hammock with a good book amidst idyllic river and mountain scenery. While you are at it do check river kwai park market and tesco lotus.
