The beaches of Bali
Bali, a picturesque province in the islands of Indonesia, is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The sands and azure blue takes one’s breath away and there is nothing quite like spending a lazy afternoon in the sun in one of these pristine blue beaches.
Nusa Dua Beach
Nusa Dua, literally translating as two islands is an amazing experience of a beach with palm trees, mangrove forests, fragrant orchids and golden sands. It is picture perfect for swimming as the currents are quite low. The crystal clear water is paradise for snorkelers. For those who would like to ride the surf, the northern end of the beach is known for tall waves. Exotic resorts and hotels line up Nusa Dua, with discotheques holding the promise of an exciting nightlife.
A cliffside beach famous for its surfing action, Suluban provides something for everyone. If you are a daredevil surfer, this is the right place to rough up that surfboard. If you prefer more solid footing, there are several hotels on the cliff providing a fantastic view of the waters below. There’s even a shallow area for families where kids can play safely.
Kuta Beach is possibly the best known tourist area in Bali, being a part of the old backpacking route through South East Asia. The five kilometre long stretch of sand in Kuta is considered by many as the best in Bali. Kuta is affectionately called by some as the Miami of Indonesia, and rightly so. Surfers have more than enough reason to smile here and so does families as well as couples. A sunset walk on the long beach front is the icing on the cake for any visit to Bali.
One of the more secluded and pristine beaches, Balangan offers so much to a traveller at a lesser cost than most other beaches in Bali. Quiet and relaxed, this offers a perfect getaway for couples looking to escape from the hustle-bustle of their everyday lives. Like most beaches in Bali, surfers will not be disappointed in Balangan either.
