Bangkok – just can’t get enough
Colorful, vibrant, exotic, strange, loving, caring, daring, sexual, accommodating, the list goes on. For the hottest tourist attraction in Asia we can only articulate the various dimensions it shows to its visitors. Its offerings are diverse and ranges from temples, museums, beaches, jungles, bars, shopping mall to food complexes, restaurants and hotels.
History buffs can find solace in contemporary offerings of temples and shrines all across the city. The city has long been the portal of entry of Western concepts and material goods, which have been adopted and blended with Thai values to various degrees by its residents. The city’s performing arts scene features traditional theatre and dance as well as Western-style plays. Wildlife enthusiasts can treat themselves with beaches and jungle safaris. Safari World consists of two parks named Marine Park and Safari Park, which wide variety of excursions and activities in the form of western plays, dolphin shows, animal zoos and water safari.
But as rumored Bangkok is the sin-city of Asia. From famous night life in the streets and corners of the babbling city shimmering with shops and stalls to the infamous strip clubs, escort services and sex shows there is plethora of tenders to be filled. There are shows designed for the wicked hearted and there are theatrics organized for the polite ones. You can experiment, you can enjoy, you can sleep, you can live but you just cannot miss the night life.
The food is multi cuisine. It starts from northern hemisphere of this globe covers eastern extensively, pays its homage to western beautifully and delivers a punch from southern hemisphere. Safe to say a tourist can have the finest of cuisines with the most luxurious and the most economical surroundings. These create the perfect setting for a pleasant time with friends and near ones. All of the experience unfolding right in front of your eyes buzzing with the hustles going on inches away.
Shopping has always been a traveler’s favorites to do on the run. Bangkok offers it in so many dimensions and so many ways that you will have no response other than a cup brimming of appreciation. From MBK mall for electronics shopping, to the floating market on the outskirts, to the night markets magically appearing outside the malls, to the big mall with small shops, to the sky-tower wholesale market you will just not get enough of it.
But what is the biggest underlying expectation of a backpacker tourist, of a family tourist, of a leisure tourist when he plans for a travel? The human response he will get from the citizens, the accommodating nature of the dwellers, and the nature of service providers. Thai people are laid back. In modern words, they are “pretty chill”. The life inside malls is of those small outlets selling clothes at a moderate setting. The prices are mature, the discounts are plenty, the surroundings are modest, the conversations are sublime, in short you just flow with the city’s life and end up loving it.
