Backpack and Pattaya
Backpackers have long been missing from the Pattaya travel circuit. The backpackers usually arrive in Bangkok from wherever and head north to Chiang Mai or south to Phuket and as they approach to southern border into Cambodia. Chiang Mai is a great photography destination so be sure to carry your camera along for a photography tour in Chiang Mai! Pattaya has long been eluded from the backpackers travel destination. Here is what I would suggest a fellow backpacker to do whilst going in this city.
The secret of the above stated fact is simple. This city misses out because of a book. The most popular destination for young travelers in Bangkok is Khao San Road. Pattaya is a hundred times better and a thousand times bigger. Pattaya is safe and yet it’s exciting. It is cheap and it’s a hell lot of fun. It most certainly scores higher than Bangkok. Getting into Pattaya is easy and is advised to come through airport. Take a Taro bun to eat because the journey to city will take about two hours.
Get off at Pattaya Klang shop. Hire a bike, or ride onto the Sang Thaew waiting, or do it via foot. It would take 20-30 min. Go to Soi Honey. It is a bit of a wild street but you will find lots of friendly faces there. You might just end up liking it. Bar girls will know whereabouts of the cheap rooms there. There are several guesthouses and hotels on the street nearby.
To go around in Pattaya we have fleets and fleets of Sang Thaew which are basically a multi passenger pick-ups stick to set circuitous route which can serve as your personal broom stick to play around in the city. There are mini buses also roaming around the city for 150 baht which are quick.
Western food of every possible kind is available. There are numerous luxury apartments and villas for those who spend all or part of the year there. Pattaya has everything you could want in a city or in a holiday. Every amenity is there and then some.
There is one thing not to be missed while in Pattaya is the Thai whiskey. It comes in plenty and it comes in cheap. It is the most adviced even if you are not a whiskey drinker. In the day there are too many places to see and to visit. But what does one will not want to miss out is the night life. It is good, safe, fun, exciting, and bumpy for both the sexes. Do all his at the walking street and you might just have the time of your life.
In the end all this is what matters……
Am I right or am I right my fellow backpackers?
